Preparing For Divorce

From The Experts

“What comes first, the compass or the clock? Before one can truly manage time, it is important to know where you are going, what your priorities and goals are, in which direction you are headed. Where you are headed is more important than how fast you are going. Rather than always focusing on what’s urgent, learn to focus on what is really important.”

Before you start the divorce process, PLEASE do all 3 of these things. Please! We promise, you’ll thank us for it later.

  1. See a good counselor or therapist individually
  2. At least try some substantive marriage counseling (or at least sincerely urging your spouse to go with you)
  3. Analyzing your situation, both on your own and with one or two trustworthy friends or family members

If you’ve done ALL THREE of those things, and you’ve determined that your marriage is beyond salvage and that divorce is necessary – or at the very least better than staying married – it’s now time to go all in.

After making sure you and your spouse are in agreement (on getting a divorce) just click the “Get Started” button at the top of the page and OurDivorce will guide you through the process.
